Carcass

Interlocked metallic construction that can be used as the innermost layer to prevent, totally or partially, collapse of the internal pressure sheath or pipe due to pipe decompression, external pressure, tensile armour pressure, and mechanical crushing loads. NOTE The carcass may be used externally to protect the external surface of the pipe.
