Bend Restrictor

A device placed on the rope adjacent to a termination to prevent abrupt bending at the termination.

Bend Restrictor

Device for limiting the bend radius of the umbilical by mechanical means. NOTE A bend restrictor typically is comprised of a series of interlocking metallic or moulded rings, applied over the umbilical. It is sometimes referred to as a bend strain reliever (BSR).

Bend Restrictor

Mechanical device that functions as a mechanical stop and limits the local radius of curvature of the flexible pipe to a minimum value.
